This Privacy Policy describes how Temcrypta ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and discloses your personal information when you use our end-to-end encrypted messaging service.

1. Information We Collect

We collect minimal information to provide our service:

• Account Information: When you register, we collect your username and a password hash.
• Public Keys: We store your public encryption keys to facilitate the encrypted message exchange.
• Message Metadata: We store encrypted messages, but we cannot access the content as it is encrypted with keys we do not have access to.
• Session Data: Information about your login sessions for security purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely for the purpose of:

• Providing and maintaining our secure messaging service
• Authenticating users and facilitating message delivery
• Improving and optimizing our service
• Detecting and preventing security incidents

3. End-to-End Encryption

Temcrypta uses RSA-2048 for key exchange and AES-256 for message encryption. All encryption and decryption happen on your device. We do not have access to:

• Your private encryption keys, which remain solely on your device
• The content of your messages
• Your passwords (we only store securely hashed versions)

4. Data Storage and Protection

Your data is stored in a SQLite database with appropriate security measures in place. We employ security protocols to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction of data.

5. Your Data Rights

Under the GDPR and similar regulations, you have the following rights:

• Access your personal data
• Rectify inaccurate personal data
• Request deletion of your personal data
• Restrict or object to processing of your personal data
• Data portability (export your private keys)
• Withdraw consent

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information and encrypted messages until you choose to delete them or delete your account. When you delete your account, all your personal data and messages will be permanently removed from our systems.

7. Third-Party Services

Temcrypta does not share your data with third parties except as required by law. We do not use third-party analytics or tracking tools.

8. Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser local storage to store your encrypted private keys and maintain your session state. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export your keys.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
